A gathering of royals

  • 21 November 2009

On November 19 and 20, many Europeans royals — including Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, and Princess Madeleine; Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands; Queen Sofia of Spain; Queen Paola of Belgium; Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa of Luxembourg; Princess Cristina of Spain; Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway; and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark — attended events in Sweden marking the 20th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. I thought about that when I posted this! I don’t know why a British royal didn’t attend.

I think the British royals think they are superior to the European royals – I don’t know why they should except that perhaps they think they have a longer history and regard themselves as being more important compared to their counterparts in Europe.

And where is a representative of the Monaco ruling family? Have you noticed how they are rarely included in these gatherings of royals?
