Here’s a sneak peek at the new royalty books scheduled to be published next month. You can click the book titles below to get more information or to order. As always, publication dates are subject to change. I’ll publish the full list of new royalty books on the Royalty.nu Books page on October 1.

Behind the Scenes in Versailles by Pascal Bonafoux and Gilles Targat. The building of the chateau, life at court, its characters and intrigues.

Jewels of the Romanovs: Family & Court by Stefano Papi. About Russian imperial jewels and the people who wore them. 200 full-color and 100 black-and-white illustrations.

Ibn Saud: The Desert Warrior and His Legacy by Michael Darlow and Barbara Bray. A desert nomad, Ibn Saud transformed himself into the first king of Saudi Arabia.

Majestie by David Teems. A shared biography of England’s intellectual, vulgar, bombastic King James I and the Bible that goes by his name.

Burke’s Peerage & Gentry – Royal Families of Europe by William Bortrick. The first volume on royal genealogy to be published by Burke’s in over 30 years. Includes a searchable CD-ROM.

The Queen’s Dolls’ House by Lucinda Lambton. Illustrated history of the dollhouse commissioned in the 1920s for Britain’s Queen Mary.

The Royals by the editors of LIFE. Photos of royals that first appeared in LIFE magazine and the stories behind them.

If I could only read one of these books, I think I would pick “Behind the Scenes in Versailles” because books like that are usually fun. Which would you choose?
