Sneak peek at September 2018 new royalty books

September used to be the biggest month for new royalty books, with so many new titles to post that I could hardly keep up. Well, that’s no longer the case, but publishers still have some intriguing books to offer us next month. Here’s your sneak peek.

Maria Lekapene, Empress of the Bulgarians by Miroslaw J. Leszka and Zofia A. Brzozowska. A biography of the wife of Tsar Peter I of Bulgaria (927-969).

The Duke of Monmouth by Laura Brennan. Biography. He was the illegitimate son of Britain’s King Charles II, handsome and well loved. What turned him into a rebel?

Tudors to Windsors by National Portrait Gallery. Portraits of British royalty spanning 500 years.

The Winter Palace and the People by Susan P. McCaffrey. The story of the Russian palace and monarchs from 1754 to 1917.

Empresses of China’s Forbidden City, 1644-1912 edited by Daisy Yiyou Wang and Jan Stuart. Essays and over 100 works of art from the Palace Museum in Beijing.

As always, publication dates are subject to change (which makes it challenging to keep this sneak peek up-to-date even for a week.)

The full list of new royalty books will be published on the Royalty.nu Books page on September 1. But why wait that long? You can go to Royalty.nu right now to see all of the new July and August books!

If I could only read one of the books listed above, I would pick Maria Lekapene because its subtitle is “Neither a Saint nor a Malefactress,” and anyone controversial enough to earn a subtitle like that has got to be interesting. Which book would you choose?
