Queen Elizabeth II visited the Royal Foundation of St. Katharine, a charitable conference and retreat center in London, on March 24. While there she planted a rose bush called "Queen Elizabeth" to commemorate her visit. St. Katharine’s was founded in 1147 by Queen Matilda as a religious community and hospital for poor people. Since 1273, the foundation’s patronage has been reserved for queens of England. (Photo © Adrian Dennis/AFP. Photo source: The British Monarchy)
